Ray,

It seems like it has been forever since I've spoken to you last. I do call the house from time to time just to hear your voice on the answering machine. I know that's a little psychotic but I can't get through the day without hearing your voice at least once and with you not talking to me and all…Well, I have no choice but to take some desperate measures.

Seriously, Ray, how can things have gotten this bad that you cannot speak to me anymore? I would love to have another chance with you. I want to prove to you that I can be the woman that you deserve but how can I do that if you won't even hear me out? Why is it that you can only focus on all of the bad and never remember me for the good?

I know that I did you wrong. I should never have gotten into the truck that night with the tow truck driver, but in my own defense I did call you to come pick me up. All I kept getting was that damned voicemail box telling me you were in a meeting. God, you were always in a meeting. I could never get through to you just like I can't get through to you now. So what do you expect me to do when you were never there for me?

Anyway, I'm not going to play the blame game this time. It's what we always do and it never gets us anywhere. I just wanted to remind you of the good times and tell you that I think you're throwing a good thing away on just a moment of insanity.

Do you remember that day when we went down to the lake to have a picnic? I put our basket right down on an anthill and when we came back it was swarming with ants. Oh, it's probably been six years or so ago so you might not remember it. But for some reason that day stuck in my head, not because of the ants, but because of what you said to me.

Anyone else would have been furious with me but not you. You just looked at me and laughed. We swam and played until we thought we would starve. When I asked you why you weren't mad, you said that you liked to focus on the good things, that there are always bad things that come along but it's the good things that make the bad worth enduring.

So why can't you do that now? Why can't you focus on the good things and let's put all of this nastiness behind us? You know that this was never how it was with us. This is just a bad time we're going through right now. We'll get it back. I promise. You just have to give me another chance.
